If you’re like me, you probably are spent most or all of 2019 working at a job that you didn’t like. You probably felt guilty for not spending enough time with your family and friends. You might have not been making the money that you need for your family. It’s a crappy feeling. Lastly, you most likely stumbled upon this blog because you are looking for a way to make money online. Whether you’re looking for a side-hustle or even make this a full-time job.
Let’s breakdown affiliate marketing and what it is.
1. Affiliate marketing is promoting other peoples product or service and you get a commission from it. Example: Company A sells a product for $100. Every time they make a sale using a special promo link that they gave you, you make say 25% of that sale. So you made $25 from that $100 sale. Simple.
2. You DO NOT own any inventory – Being an affiliate market means you don’t own any products. You just promote them. A majority of the time a company that has an affiliate program will give you FREE marketing tools to promote their product or service. That can include banners, images and even email swipes(email templates).
3. Ability to live a laptop lifestyle – Basically, you can do this anywhere in the world at anytime. As long as you have an internet connection.
4. BONUS TIP – If you are able to join an affiliate program that offers monthly recurring commissions then you’ve hit the jackpot. Example: Company A is offering to monthly subscription service for $125 a monthly. For every subscription sold under your link you get $30. If you were to sign up 20 individuals and they kept their subscriptions that $600 a month in your pocket! Imagine if you got 200? That’s $6000!
There is no limit to the amount of affiliate programs that you can sign up with. There are many markets and niches out there. However, if you are looking for a particular niche, all you have to do is google it. Example: best sports affiliate programs or best video game affiliate marketing program. Now of course I have to share with you what affiliate marketing is not.
1. It’s not a get rich quick scheme – It will take time and patience. I placed a picture of a pyramid because just like your affiliate business and building a pyramid..it takes dedication. Anyone that promises you that you’ll make 100K your first month. RUN. A lot of these so-called gurus out here make these kind of claims. Now it is possible but don’t be fooled be their psychological tactics to stir up your emotions.
2. Marketing can be tricky – Now this all depends if you use free traffic or some times referred to organic traffic. Use free traffic takes more time. Some of the best methods for traffic are:
a. Youtube
b. Instagram
c. Facebook
d. Starting a blog
If you use paid, chances of you making a great return on investment is much higher.
Here are some paid methods:
1. Pay-Per-Click(PPC)
2. Social Media Ads (Such as FaceBook)
3. Ad retargeting
4. Google Ads
